Our Summer timetable commences on Sunday 23rd March 2008.
Below is a summary of the changes, please check the timetables carefully for the journeys you use in case the time has changed.
You can click on the routes numbers to view the timetables.

Route 1/1A/1C Some minor reductions to early morning and mid evening journeys. Evening journeys will operate via Priory Road and ASDA (1A) or Ramsay Way and Beatty Road (1C) to return services to those areas. Evening and Sunday buses will also continue from Shinewater to The Hydneye and vice versa, reintroducing evening services to this area. The daytime frequency on Monday to Fridays will remain every 10 minutes but on Saturdays this will be reduced to every 15 minutes, operated by routes 1A and 1C only.

Route 2
This route will run every 30 minutes between Hampden Park Station and the Town Centre via Winkney Farm and Seaside. There are some minor reductions to early morning and evening timetables. An hourly service will operate on Sundays and continue to Shinewater and Langney. Evening services in The Hydneye area are provided on Routes 1A and 1C. At Hampden Park Station most journeys will continue as, or originate from, journeys on new route 6 serving Maywood Avenue, Lindfield Road, the Hospital and the Town Centre. At Terminus Road most journeys will continue as, or originate from, journeys on route 3/3A to and from Meads.

Route 3 Route 3 This route will be shortened to operate every 30 minutes between the Town Centre and Meads Street with every other journey continuing to Wellcombe Crescent and the foot of Beachy Head. Journeys that start and end at Meads Street will be numbered 3A. There are some minor early morning and evening reductions but the Sunday service will continue. At Terminus Road most journeys will continue as, or originate from, journeys on route 2, to and from Winkney Farm and Hampden Park Station. Journeys on current route 3 between Langney Shops and the Town Centre will be replaced by new Route 6, please see below.

Route 4 This route is withdrawn. Alternative buses will be available on the increased timetable on Route 51 between the Town Centre and Polegate High Street and on diverted route 54 for Carew Road, Dittons Wood and Stone Cross. The sections of route between Stone Cross and Langney Shops, around Hamlands and Willingdon Park Drive and between Terminus Road and Meads will no longer be operated. Alternative buses are available on route 5 between Stone Cross and Langney Shops, on route 3 between Meads Village and the Town Centre and on routes 1/1A and 6/6A for Hamlands and Hazelwood Avenue.

Route 5 This route will be shortened to run hourly on Mondays to Saturdays between Stone Cross and the North Harbour, via Friday Street, Langney Shops, Cross Levels Way, Upperton Road, Terminus Road, Bridgemere and St Anthony’s Avenue. It will no longer serve Westham, Pevensey, Beachlands, Pevensey Bay or Milfoil Drive and Ramsay Way/Beatty Road. New route 6 will serve Ramsay Way/Beatty Road, please see below. A half hourly service will be maintained around Bridgemere in conjunction with route 51A.

Route 6 This new route will replace route 3 between Langney Shops and Terminus Road via Priory Road, ASDA and Beatty Road Shops. Running every 15 minutes between Terminus Road and Langney roundabout alternate journeys will proceed to serve either ASDA as route 6A or Langney Rise as route 6. This new route also replaces route 2 between Terminus Road and Hampden Park Station via Lewes Road, the Hospital, Lindfi eld Road and Maywood Avenue. The section of route between Terminus Road and Maywood Avenue is increased to every 15 minutes for most of the day on Mondays to Saturdays. Alternate journeys will continue from Maywood Avenue to Hampden Park Station whilst the other journeys serve Hazelwood Avenue. At Hampden Park Station most journeys continue as, or originate from, journeys on route 2 serving Winkney Farm, Seaside and Terminus Road providing a quicker link from Maywood Avenue to Seaside.

Route 7 This route is completely withdrawn. Alternative facilities on Routes 1/1A and 1C will be available between Terminus Road and Albert Parade, Central Avenue and the Hospital. Cherry Garden Road and Hill Road will no longer be served.

Route 51 Daytimes on Monday to Saturday between Terminus Road and Hailsham the frequency is being increased from hourly to every 30 minutes, partly to replace the section of route 4 that is withdrawn between Terminus Road and Polegate. This brings a balanced half-hourly service on Upperton Road and along Farmlands Way, both of which have been requested by users. At Terminus Road alternate journeys are extended as Route 51A via Bridgemere, Seaside, Beatty Road to and from South Harbour. This maintains the half hourly service around Bridgemere in conjunction with route 5. At Langney Point Prince William Parade will only be served between Atlantic Drive and Ramsay Way, buses being diverted via Beatty Road as a result of customer requests.

Route 52 The Eastbourne terminus for this route will now be Terminus Road and not Birch Road except for a couple of early morning journeys. Route 52 will no longer serve Polegate High Street. In Hailsham the route between North Street/ High Street and Horsebridge Mill will be Battle Road and Harebeating Stores rather than London Road and Anglesey Avenue. Otherwise there are only minor timetable changes. Journeys numbered X52 will not serve Mayfield or Rotherfield.

Route 54 Between Eastbourne and Hailsham most journeys on this route will be diverted to serve Carew Road between the Town and Hospital and via Dittons Wood between Stone Cross and Polegate, to replace Route 4, before using Ersham Road to reach Hailsham. In Hailsham it will run via London Road to Horsebridge Mill rather than Battle Road and Harebeating Stores.
