Countycards - Applications and Renewals

Eastbourne Borough Council are taking over the administration of Countycards for the Eastbourne area.

Consequently from 6th March 2006 all Countycard applications and renewals will be dealt with at the Eastbourne Borough Council offices at 1 Grove Road.

After this date, The Bus Stop Shop at Eastbourne Railway Station will be unable to deal with any enquiries regarding Countycards.

Road Closure - Seven Sisters Road

Seven Sisters Road will be closed for flood alleviation works to be carried out from Monday 20th March for approximately three weeks.

Services 1 and 4 will be diverted via Anderida Road in both directions while these works are carried out. Temporary Stops will be placed in Anderida Road.

We can only apologise for any inconvenience caused by these works.

Changes to Services from Sunday 26th March 2006

From Sunday 26th March 2006 there will be changes to services 1/1A, 2A, 50/51, 52 and 54 as follows:

Routes 1/1A - The Cavendish Connection
During Mondays to Saturdays daytimes these routes are simplified to operate as route 1 between Bannatynes and Willingdon Roundabout. Buses will operate at least every 10 minutes during the busier part of the day. During evenings and all day Sundays, routes 1 and 1A will continue to operate the same routes as now, but to a revised timetable.

Routes 2A
This is a new route to replace route 1A during Mondays to Saturdays daytimes. From Memorial Roundabout buses will serve Terminus Road, Southfields Road, Old Town, Green Street, Eldon Road, Rodmill Drive, King's Drive then via a one way loop via Willingdon Road, Huggetts Lane, Seven Sisters Road, Hazelwood Avenue, Brodrick Road, Lindfield Road and Decoy Drive back to King's Drive, then Rodmill Drive, Eldon Road, Green Street, Old Town, Southfields Road and Terminus Road to Memorial Roundabout.

Routes 50/51 - The South Downs Connection
Most journeys on route 50 are extended to/from The Crumbles via Seaside.

Route 52 - The South Downs Connection
Re-routed between Eastbourne Town Centre and Sovereign Harbour via Seaside. There are other minor changes to the timetable.

Route 54 - The South Downs Connection
The section of route between East Grinstead and Newchapel is withdrawn. There are other minor changes to the timetable.
