Local 5 - Access Problems at Pacific Drive

Owing to difficulties with parked vehicles along Pacific Drive in Sovereign Harbour North, the Local 5 service will be terminating at the third roundabout and not continuing to the end of the route. This unfortunately means that the last three bus stops will not be served until further notice.

We are in consultation with the Council's Highways Team and the Sovereign Harbour developers to find a solution to this problem.

We can only apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.

Industrial Action - Thursday 15th and Tuesday 20th June 2006

We are dismayed that despite extensive and apparently positive talks between ourselves and the TGWU last week, and the fact that our staff have been receiving the pay increase of four per cent since January the industrial action supported by only a small number of them is scheduled to go ahead on Thursday (June 15).

It is disappointing that a relatively small group are able to cause disruption to the travel plans of thousands of our customers.

We intend to operate as many buses as we can, but as we do not know how many of our staff will attend work we cannot accurately forecast which services will run. Our main priority will be to operate buses that serve schools.

Up to the minute information will be available from our website, www.eastbournebuses.co.uk or by calling 01323 416416.

Service 5 - No Service to Beachlands

Due to a Road Traffic Accident at approximately 1030 hours along the Coast Road at Beachlands, Service 5 buses will not be serving Beachlands and will instead terminate at Pevensey Bay.

Sussex Police have informed us that the road is likely to remain closed for the rest of today.

We can only apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause and will resume normal service as soon as we can.
