Road Closure - Tanbridge Road - Service 3 Diversion

Tanbridge is no longer affected by this road closure and buses will now be diverted along Treemaines Road and not Telscombe Road.

This means Bus services travelling towards the Town Centre will travel along Netherfield Avenue, turn right into Treemaines Road and then left across the bridge.

When travelling from Town buses will turn right after the bridge along Treemaines Road. The Bus Stop in Telscombe Road will not be served in either direction.

Child Day Rover Tickets

From Sunday 13th August 2006, Child Day Rover Tickets will only be issued to children on production of a valid usbus.idcard.

usbus.idcards can be obtained free of charge from Flagship Eastbourne Travel Office at Eastbourne Railway Station, just take along a passport-sized photograph, your birth certificate and proof of address.

The roadworks in Tanbridge have now finished and Service 3 is back to normal route.

Airbourne 2006 - Park & Ride Bus Service

For the period of Airbourne 2006, 17th - 20th August, a car park will be sited at Five Acre field, at the end of Lottbridge Drove adjacent to the Sovereign Centre. A special bus service will be operated starting at 9.30 am from the Car Park to a bus stop in Cavendish Place near the Pier. The service will operate every 15 minutes throughout the day with duplications at busy times and the last bus leaves at 7.30 pm.

On Sunday 20th August a special "Fireworks Link" will operate from the Car Park to a bus stop in Cavendish Place near the Pier. The service starts at 7.30 pm and will operate every 30 minutes with the last bus leaving Cavendish Place at 10.30 pm.

The fare on this service will be £2-00 adult with one child travelling free (additional children charged at £1 per child) each way.

Airbourne 2006 - Park & Ride Bus Service

On Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th August, an additional car park will be sited at St Andrew's School at Darley Road in Meads. A special bus service will be operated starting at 9.30 am from a Bus Stop in Wellcombe Crescent to a bus stop opposite the Main Event Arena at the Western Lawns on Eastbourne Seafront. The service will operate every 15 minutes throughout the day and the last bus will leave at 7.30 pm.

The fare on this service will be £1 adult with one child travelling free (additional children charged at 50 pence per child) each way.


  Airbourne 2006 - Traffic Congestion

At peak times during Airbourne 2006 bus services in the Town may suffer disruption due to heavy traffic attending the above event.

Eastbourne Buses will make every attempt to operate services as close to the published time as possible.

Services 3 & 4 - Meads Diversion - Airbourne 2006

Due to problems with parked cars during Airbourne 2006, Services 3 and 4 will be diverted at Meads.

From Thursday 17th to Sunday 20th August buses will turn right after Darley Road and terminate at Meads Street. These services will not serve Wellcombe Crescent, Dukes Drive, King Edwards Parade or Chesterfield Road.

Hippodrome Bus Stop - Not in Use

The Hippodrome Bus Stop in Seaside Road, on Services heading towards Langney, is not in use for the next three days owing to Roadworks in Seaside Road.

A temporary stop has been sited approximately 50 metres further along Seaside Road.

Herstmonceux Castle Medieval Festival
Special Bus Service

The Herstmonceux Castle Medieval Festival is held annually over the August Bank Holiday Weekend. It has grown to become Britain's largest three day celebration of the middle ages! In this magical setting history will come to life. Hundreds of combatants with cannon support will siege the castle walls. Mounted Knights will joust and Europe's finest Archers will compete. Activities and entertainments for the whole family: Fire-Eaters, Falconry, Puppeteers, Strolling Minstrels, period Craft Stalls, Living History Village and Kid's Kingdom. If you are travelling to the event by rail, then catch a train to Polegate Rail Station. Eastbourne Buses are operating a special bus service from Polegate to Hertsmonceux Castle. A bus will depart every 30 minutes from 9:30 am. Buses will leave the festival on the hour and on the half-hour with the last bus departing at 6pm. The travel time is approximately 20 minutes and the cost is £2.00 adult single and £1.50 concession single (children up to 16, OAP's and disabled people). No return fares available.
