Seaside Road / Cavendish Place Diversions

The roadworks in Seaside Road and Cavendish Place have now been completed and all bus services are now back to their normal route.

Roadworks in Princes Road

Road resurfacing is taking place along Princes Road and road junctions will be closed as the works move along. Therefore Services 3 / 3A and 6 may suffer delays and diversions depending on which road junctions are closed.

Delays to Services using Kings Drive

Roadworks are taking place in Lewes Road with the junction of Arundel Road and the use of temporary traffic lights mean that severe congestion and subsequent delays to services are being experienced.

We are working with the Highways Department to try to minimise any delays to services using this area, but can only apologise for any inconvenience that may be caused.

18th
Roadworks in Seaside Road

Due to contractors taking longer than anticipated, Seaside Road is still closed to bus services on Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th May and buses are therefore being diverted.

Services in to Town will turn left onto the Seafront at the Crown and Anchor PH near Leaf Hall then right into Cavendish Place by the Pier.

Services out of town will not be serving Trinity Trees but will be going across Memorial Roundabout to Devonshire Place and then left onto the Seafront and back onto Seaside at the Crown and Anchor PH near Leaf Hall.

Service 6 from the town will go across Memorial Roundabout to Devonshire Place, along the seafront and then left into Cavendish Place.

Roadworks in Seaside Road

Seaside Road will be closed on Monday 17th May to allow road resurfacing to take place and bus services travelling out of towm will therefore be diverted.

Services will go right at Trinity Trees into Trinity Place then along the seafront and back onto Seaside at Leaf Hall.

Service 6 from the town will go right at Trinity Trees into Trinity Place, along the seafront and then left into Cavendish Place.

Roadworks in Princes Road

The south section of Princes Road, from Beatty Road to the Sovereign Centre Roundabout will be closed on Sunday 16th May to allow road resurfacing to take place and services 9 / 9A will therefore be diverted.

Services travelling into Town will turn right from Beatty Road and go to Langney Roundabout then along St Anthony's Avenue to Seaside and services in the opposite direction will follow the same route in reverse.

Roadworks in Seaside Road / Cavendish Place

The junction of Seaside and Cavendish Place will be closed on Sunday 16th May for roadworks and therefore services will be diverted.

Services travelling in to town will be diverted via Bourne Street, Ashford Road then Susans Road while services travelling out of town will go right at Trinity Trees into Trinity Place then along the seafront and back onto Seaside at Leaf Hall.

Service 6 from the town will go right at Trinity Trees into Trinity Place then along the seafront and turn left onto Seaside at Leaf Hall then left into Bourne Street.

Services 3 / 3A and 10 / 10A Diversion

The diversion affecting Services 3 / 3A and 10 / 10A around the Priory Road area has now finished and these services are back to their normal route.

Major Delays to Services

The road resurfacing works being carried out along Eastbourne Seafront have started again and severe traffic congestion is causing delays to all Bus Services travelling along Seaside and St Anthonys Avenue.

These roadworks are expected to last until the end of the week so further delays are expected.

Magnificent Motors

Magnificent Motors

On Sunday 2nd and Monday 3rd May Eastbourne Borough Council, in partnership with East Sussex Historic Vehicle Club, East Sussex Omnibus Society and various interested historic transport groups will hold Magnificent Motors on the beautiful Western Lawns situated on Eastbourne seafront.

The format will be the display and running of all types of vehicles, vintage fairground attractions, staging and entertainment. It is anticipated that in excess of 400 vehicles will visit the show enjoying a cavalcade along the seafront at the beginning of the event.

In addition, the weekend will focus on the Mayor's Open Day on Sunday 2nd May and the Sovereign Harbour Fun Weekend as well as highlighting all the seafront attractions to be linked by a vintage bus service. The culmination of the Mayor's Open Day will be an evening of music at the Bandstand, featuring Eastbourne's premier Rock and Roll band, The Riverboys and the fabulous Lost 4 Words culminating in a Fireworks Display.
