An unfortunate incident occurred when one of our buses on the Local 5 Service caught fire in Adur Drive, Stone Cross.

Due to the swift action of our Driver no customers were injured and the quick response by East Sussex Fire & Rescue meant that the bus was not severely damaged.

The bus has since been recovered by the manufacturer and the incident will be throughly investigated so that the cause can be established.

We are currently checking all other vehicles of this type to make sure there are no obvious faults.

We are pleased to announce the following changes that are being introduced to improve the services we provide for our customers.

Service 3/3A/3X - Monday to Saturday
The route of this service is being altered to go via Foxglove Road between Larkspur Drive and Milfoil Drive in Shinewater and via Southfields Road between The Goffs and the Town Centre. Appropriate bus stops will be sited along these routes.

Service 5 - Eastbourne to Beachlands, Monday to Saturday
Service 6/6A/6X - Langney to Sovereign Harbour, Monday to Saturday
These services are being replaced by the new Local service 5. This service will provide links between Westham and Pevensey.

Service 8 - Meads to Cherry Garden Road/Victoria Drive, Daily
The route of this service is being altered to go via Southfields Road between The Goffs and the Town Centre.

Service 18 - Meads to Langney, Monday to Saturday
This service is being extended to serve the Foot of Beachy Head at Meads.

Service 51 - Eastbourne to Hailsham, Sundays
This service is being retimed on Sundays only. Please check the new timetable for full details.

Service 52 - Eastbourne to Tunbridge Wells, Daily
A new service to Tunbridge Wells is being introduced including a link to Eastbourne Seafront (on Sundays only). This will give customers from Five Ashes, Mayfield and Rotherfield a regular link for shopping and leisure. We are also introducing earlier departures from Eastbourne and Tunbridge Wells on Saturdays.

Weekdays, there will be a new connection for commuters with the 0723 hours train from Tunbridge Wells to London.

Service 52A - Eastbourne to Heathfield, Daily
This service is being re-numbered 52. On Sundays this service will no longer serve Farmlands Way, Polegate High Street or Union Corner, these places will continue to be served by Service 51.

Services 51, 52 and 54, Monday to Saturday
The early morning departures from Terminus Road will start from the Alexandra Arms, Seaside.

Service 55 - Willingdon School Service, Schooldays
This service is being re-numbered 18.
