Revised Timetables
As a result of problems experienced since 1st September 2002 a number of timing changes have been introduced on most town services within Eastbourne to improve timekeeping reliability. In addition services 3, 4, 7 and 7A have been replaced by new Circular services 3/3A and an extension to service 6 through to Langney. Service 8A has been replaced by new service 18 which has been extended beyond the Hospital through Hamlands to Polegate, Stone Cross and Langney Shopping Centre on an hourly basis. The 18 will also introduce a direct service from Meads Village down Meads Road to the Town Hall and Town Centre. As a consequence service 8 Meads - Town Centre - Cherry Garden Road reverts to a regular daytime half-hourly frequency. Both the 8 and 18 will use Meads Road rather than Gaudick Road and Carlisle Road until the Denton Road/Gaudick Road junction is remodelled. Service 21 will no longer serve Langney Shopping Centre with the 18 providing the link between Polegate and Langney. The service 22 at 0910 hours from Battle to Eastbourne and returning from Eastbourne at 1350 hours will in future only operate on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the school term. Country services 51, 52, 53 and 54 have been revised with additional running time to improve reliability although there has been a reduction in the number of service 53 journeys and service 51 has been withdrawn from Gleneagles Drive in Hailsham. The 53 route will be altered to serve the new Polegate By-Pass and Dittons Wood rather than Ersham Road and Stone Cross. Revised timetables start on Sunday 23rd February 2003. Timetable booklets will be available shortly and full details will be posted on this website by the beginning of February. |
