Bus Stops at the District General Hospital

Contrary to the impression given recently in the local newspaper, The Eastbourne Herald, the Company is not intending to abolish the bus stops at the local District Hospital.

As part of a scheme devised in conjunction with the local Health Authority, Borough Council and ECAT / Park Colleges the Company is presently investigating the possibilities of introducing a bus interchange within Hospital Grounds to replace the current stops sited in Kings Drive.

The intention is actually to improve bus services to the Hospital and Colleges not worsen the current facilities.

Further details will be published in due couse when the plans have been finalised.

Sunday
2nd
Twelvecards

From Sunday 2nd September the Twelvecard ticket will no longer be jointly available on Stagecoach and Eastbourne Buses Services.

Eastbourne Buses will continue to issue its own Twelvecard at the existing price of £8-99 but this will only be valid on Eastbourne Buses services.

The reason for the change is that Eastbourne Buses has received expert advice that the existing Twelvecard arrangement with Stagecoach does not comply with the 1998 Competition Act.

X30 Special Service to Lewes

The Company is providing a special service to Lewes next week (17th to 21st September only) for the County Council in conjunction with the Lewes Streets Ahead Project which is aimed at encouraging a reduction in car use for people working in Lewes.

Relax your way to work

From Monday leave the car and take the 'Lewes Workers Express' to make a real difference to the streets. This special service will take the strain while you gently prepare for the day ahead, and at the end of the day leave it all behind, sit back and watch the countryside go by without a care.

To celebrate Lewes Streets Ahead Festival this temporary X30 service will run for one week only to give you the opportunity to test a limited-stop Eastbourne to Lewes commuter bus service.
